Stephen Pasquale draws on a range of perspectives in his work with individuals, returning most often to the Townsend Growth Model. Having seen the difference it makes in people's lives, he often keeps it at the center of Wayview's individual care.
THE TOWNSEND GROWTH MODEL
Psychologist Dr. John Townsend is the Founder of the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine and the Clinical Director of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the world's largest faith-based mental health organization.
While he is most known for the book Boundaries, his more substantial work is the Townsend Growth Model, shaped by decades of practice, writing, and research into how people actually change. His approach blends insight from neuroscience, attachment research, and the study of healthy growth, mapped across a biblical framework.
THE TOWNSEND TPRAT
The Townsend Personal and Relational Assessment Tool (TPRAT) is a personal assessment that gives a picture of what areas of focus most need attention, allowing us to make the best use of time in session.
Stephen Pasquale is registered with the TPRAT platform and encourages clients to take the brief questionnaire. Please wait for an invitation before getting started. The TPRAT carries a $25 fee. If cost is a barrier to taking the assessment, Stephen would be happy to talk through options to make it accessible for you.
While much of Wayview's approach is built on a pastoral look at the Townsend Growth Model, Stephen also leans on other models and on the wisdom of Scripture as he walks with each person through their own season.
